There are few exceptions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>GENERAL<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Citizens of countries that are not members or contractual partners of the EU (\u201c<strong>third countries<\/strong>\u201d) may only work in Germany with a residence permit including employment permission. However, some third-country nationals do not require a residence permit of this type. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>managing director of his\/her own GmbH \u2013 a so-called \u201cmanaging partner\u201d,<\/li>\n<li>citizen of a country of the European Economic Area (EEA),<\/li>\n<li>citizens of Switzerland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are different types of residence permits with an employment permission. A distinction is made between residence permits that require approval and those that do not. For a residence permit that requires approval, the approval of the Federal Employment Agency (\u201c<strong>FEA<\/strong>\u201d) must be obtained. A good overview of residence permits that require and do not require approval can be found at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arbeitsagentur.de\/FILE\/merkblatt-7-auslaendischean_ba015382.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employment Agency here<\/a><\/strong> (German). Please do not hesitate to ask us about an explanation.<\/p>\n<p>Below we prescribe the requirements of the most common Blue Card.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1667334167172{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>BLUE CARD &#8211; PREREQUISITES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The comparatively simplest residence permit for an academic or a highly qualified specialist is the Blue Card, which is issued without the consent of the FEA. However, the following requirements must be met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a German, recognized foreign university degree or equivalent must be available. You can check a degree at the Anabin database here https:\/\/anabin.kmk.org\/anabin.html.<\/li>\n<li>a concrete job offer from a German company shall be issued,<\/li>\n<li>the job must correspond to your qualification,<\/li>\n<li>gross annual salary shall be at least 56,400 euros (as of 2022).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If these requirements are met, you can devote yourself to the process of issuing a visa and entering the country.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not meet these requirements, there is no need to worry. You can apply for a work visa for skilled personnel in accordance with \u00a7 18 (1) of the Residence Law.
